ABOUT THE CRAFT WIRE™
A beautiful thing is happening in Chicago: locally owned bars, music venues and union halls are opening their doors for crafters and makerpreneurs to sell their wares and interact with their communities face-to-face. A new creative economy is emerging within these unique shopping experiences, keeping money circulating between individuals instead of being siphoned into big business.
Unfortunately, until now, there has not been a one-stop directory for this distinctive phenomenon happening year-round in Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Shoppers and vendors have had to keep tabs on the sporadic pop-up scene on their own, spending a lot of time searching through Facebook pages and events.
That’s why The Craft Wire was built. A new hub for news in the Chicago craft pop-up scene, The Craft Wire is a curated monthly e-newsletter and a space for listings, interviews and exclusive content from the city’s most unique makers and much more.
